Example 1
An employee on an 8hr contract is 6 minutes late for shift. You will need to deduct 6 mins from the total contracted hours you add to Basic Hours on the batch. 6 minutes when converted to a decimal equals 0.10. You would then need to deduct this from 8hrs to get the amount of hours to pay.
The formula for this is 6/60 = 0.10
8 – 0.10 = 7.9
Batch Basic Hours 7.9
Comments 6 minutes unpaid absence
Example 2
An employee is on a 4hrs contract. They have their final remaining holiday of 3hrs 14 mins booked. The employee takes the full 4hrs off work. They will need an Unpaid Leave record for the other 46 mins. You will need to deduct 46 mins from the total contracted hours you add to Basic Hours on the batch. 14 minutes when converted to a decimal equals 0.23. The holiday to be paid is 3.23 hours.
The formula for this is 14/60 = 0.23 3 + 0.23 = 3.23
Batch
Basic Hours 3.23
Comments 3hrs 14mins hol 46 minutes unpaid absence
Example 3
An employee is on a 16hrs contract. They have their final remaining holiday of 4hrs 27 mins booked. The employee works 12hrs that week as well as taking the 4hrs 27 mins holiday. This means the employee is to be paid their 16hrs contract made up of 4hrs 27mins holiday and 11hrs 33 mins worked. Plus the overtime they worked of 27 minutes. 27 minutes when converted to a decimal equals 0.45.
The formula for this is 27/60 = 0.45
Batch Basic Hours 16
Overtime Hrs 0.45
Comments 4hrs 27mins hol
